Deep Run, as it stands on this hill above Deep Run Creek, is one of the earliest established churches in Virginia. It has its beginnings as an Anglican church, later an Episcopal Chapel, dating as early as October 2, 1742. In 1791 it became a Baptist church known as “Hungry” and was organized out of Chickahominy Baptist Church now Winn’s Baptist, in Hanover County. In 1819 the name of the church was officially changed to Deep Run.
Today Deep Run continues to minster to the needs of our community in western Henrico, central Virginia and globally around the world. Our ministries include Worship, Bible study, Missions, and Discipleship. In addition, our church serves the community through our Child Development Center, Backpack lunches for local elementary students, English as a second language classes (ESL), Hispanic and Asian-Indian ministries. It is our desire to serve all people of every age offering the love of Christ and Christian community support. If you are searching, whether it is for a relationship with Christ, a new church family, a community to belong to or simply friendship, we invite you to visit and consider Deep Run.
